Police searching for suspected thieves in Burlingame

BURLINGAME, Calif.

At about 11:15 a.m., the suspect posing as the worker gained entry to the resident's apartment in the 1200 block of Bellevue Avenue, Burlingame police said.

While the suspect was discussing the alleged faulty pipe, a second suspect entered the apartment undetected through an unlocked door and stole the safe from an office area, according to police.

A witness told police that the suspect who stole the safe got into a gray pickup truck, possibly a Ford F-250, driven by a third suspect.

The two suspects who entered the apartment are described as Pacific Islander men. The first is believed to be around 40 years old, weighing about 250 pounds and standing about 6 feet 4 inches tall. The second is described as about 35 years old, weighing roughly 200 pounds and standing about 6 feet tall, according to police.

Police are advising residents to demand to see identification from anyone attempting to visit a residence before authorizing entry.
