Fire burned Antioch apartment building

Firefighters spent about 45 minutes this morning combating a two-alarm blaze that burned a vacant Antioch apartment building, a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District dispatcher said.

At 2:36 a.m. firefighters received reports of the blaze, which burned a building in the 900 block of West Ninth Street. By 3:24 a.m., the flames were controlled, the dispatcher said.

There were no immediate reports of injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
