Typo leads to erroneous Bonds report

SAN FRANCISCO

The report said that Bonds had tested positive for steroids just one month after hitting his record 73-rd homerun of the 2001 season.

The US Attorneys Office says it made the mistake and it is fixing the filing.

The filing should have said it could prove he tested positive in 2000 --- which has already been widely reported from the original indictment.

Bonds has maintained he never 'knowingly' took performance-enhancing drugs.
