Alternative options are being sought for 60 children who attended the Belvedere Tiburon Child Care Center until it was charred during a two-alarm blaze Friday, a fire chief said Saturday.

The center is indefinitely unusable, Tiburon Fire Protection District fire Chief Richard Pearce said.

The cause of the fire at the center, located at 1185 Tiburon Blvd., remains under investigation, but it doesn't appear to be suspicious, Pearce said.

Children between the ages of 2 and 10 were evacuated when the fire was reported at about 11:30 a.m., but no injuries were reported.

Damage estimates are expected to be released Monday, Pearce said.
