Bush makes a Memorial Day appeal

President made appeal during radio address
WASHINGTON

In his weekly radio address, Bush offers several suggestions for how to honor the sacrifices of those who fought for the country.

Among the suggestions are placing a flag at a veteran's grave, going to a battlefield or saying a prayer.

The president says no words are adequate to console those who have lost a loved ones.

Bush says the moment of remembrance will be marked Monday at 3 p.m. local time. He says at that time Major League Baseball games will pause, the National Memorial Day parade will halt and buglers in military cemeteries will play taps.
