Pilot survives small plane crash at Big Bear

BIG BEAR CITY, CA

The Cessna 172 had flown from Torrance Airport to Big Bear and was trying to land when it came down between two homes, said Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor.

Pilot Audra Ellen Cramer, 39, of Redondo Beach, suffered minor injuries and was in stable condition at a local hospital, said San Bernardino County sheriff's spokeswoman Jodi Miller.

Cramer told emergency personnel she experienced difficulty during final approach, Miller said.

The plane struck power lines as it descended but there was no fire, Gregor said.

Miller said the aircraft crashed into a parked boat in a driveway, and a home had minor damage.

Big Bear Airport is at an elevation of 6,750 feet in the San Bernardino Mountains east of Los Angeles.
