The burn ban goes into effect at the start of this year's fire season. Weather and the severity of the fire season will determine when the season is over, but it should be some time around September or October, according to Cal Fire.
While the ban is in effect, burning debris is not allowed in backyards or in outdoor spaces, such as vineyards, Cal Fire reported.
