The annual AIDS/LifeCycle ride is now underway with about 2,500 cyclists participating. The cyclists left the Bay area Sunday and are now heading to Los Angeles. So far, they've covered about 80 miles, and that's just the beginning.

The ride lasts seven days, and it's 545 miles long. A lot of work, but it's all for a good cause.

The cyclists raised more than $12 million for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center.
