Adams, a 54-year-old Laguna Beach resident, was reportedly driving his 2004 Jaguar XJ8 south in the northbound lanes of the highway at about 2:40 a.m. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in Solano County Superior Court Monday. A pre-trial conference was set for July 7.
Adams made headlines last year as the cosmetic surgeon who operated on rapper Kanye West's mother the day before she died.
Several callers reported the vehicle to the California Highway Patrol and officers pulled Adams over on Highway 680 at Lake Herman Road.
Officers arrested Adams for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. CHP Officer Craig Kuehl said he was cooperative at the time of the arrest.
As policy, the agency is not releasing Adams' blood alcohol content, said Kuehl. It is illegal in California to drive with blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher.
Adams was booked into the Solano County jail on charges of driving under the influence and driving on a license that had had been suspended for a previous DUI conviction, according to the CHP.
