A ceremony will be held today in San Luis Obispo for more than 100 California National Guard soldiers who are part of the San Jose-based 1113th Transportation Company.

The soldiers returned this past weekend from a yearlong deployment during which they provided support for the war in Iraq. They left in May 2007 to provide ground transportation for supplies and equipment in and out of Kuwait and throughout Iraq, according to the California National Guard.

The soldiers delivered and recouped more than 200,000 tons of material and equipment, and provided security for more than 4,100 foreign national drivers in their convoys.

The company executed 270 missions transporting provisions in Iraq, according to the California National Guard.
