Heat causes ACE Rail tracks to bend

Wednesday is the Bay Area's third straight Spare the Air day and commuters are encouraged to take public transit. But ACE Train officials are worried about possible major delays again after the heat literally bent the tracks on Tuesday.

Some ACE Train passengers were delayed up to three hours on Tuesday - as the hot temperatures warmed up the rocks around the tracks causing them to kink.

Union Pacific officials worked on the tracks between Sunol and Pleasanton for hours - checking the tracks inch by inch. Commuters between Fremont and Pleasanton were the ones affected on Tuesday.
