Man shot in the stomach by Oakland police

OAKLAND, CA

For the second time in eight days Oakland Police are involved in a shooting by an officer.

The latest shooting happened just after 10 p.m. Friday night. The non-fatal incident occurred outside a liquor store at 24th and Adeline Streets in Oakland.

Police say the 24-year-old man was shot in the stomach and is now at Highland Hospital. Officers are not releasing any more information.

What lead up to the shooting is still unknown.

This follows another shooting by an Oakland Police officer last Friday. In that incident, 27-year-old Jody Woodfox was shot and killed by a rookie cop who thought Woodfox was reaching for a weapon. No weapon was found.

This shooting comes about a week after another officer-involved shooting occurred in the Fruitvale area of Oakland.

Police did not release additional information early Saturday morning.
