Police closed Conejo Drive between Manzanita and Murchison drives around 1:30 p.m. because of the rupture, police said.
Pacific Gas and Electric Co. arrived around 2 p.m. and fixed the half-inch service line by 2:40 p.m., said PG&E spokesman Joe Molica.
Two customers were affected but one has been restored and the other will be reinstated this evening, Molica said.
He said typically the company's service gas lines are a couple feet below ground.
He encourages third parties to contact PG&E before digging so the company can mark the areas to help prevent ruptures.
