Officers were dispatched to a home in the 4200 block of Heights Avenue at about 7 a.m. today, where they found a man who had been shot, Addington said.
The man was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek where he was pronounced dead.
No suspects have been identified and police were still at the home this morning gathering evidence, Addington said.
