Officers were called around 9:30 a.m. on reports of an auto versus pedestrian accident in the area of McLaughlin Avenue and Spokane Drive, police spokesman Enrique Garcia said.
A preliminary investigation into the collision indicates that a man in his 90s was crossing McLaughlin Avenue when a white, full-size van struck him, Garcia said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Garcia said. His identity has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
The driver was not cited, and an investigation into the collision will continue.
Garcia said there is no indication that alcohol, drugs or speed were a factor in the collision.
