Seven arrested with weapons near school

Seven people were arrested Saturday for allegedly bringing weapons, including a loaded revolver, on to a Salinas high school campus, police said.

Officers approached the group at Alisal High School, 777 Williams Road, around 5:10 p.m. and allegedly saw Manuel Perez, 19, hand a loaded revolver to a 17-year-old, according to police.

Perez, 18-year-old Jose Garcia and five juveniles between 15 and 17 years old were arrested for possession of weapons.

Officers recovered a .38-caliber revolver, three baseball bats, a knife and a small amount of methamphetamine, police said.
