VTA service affected by marathon

Bus and light rail service for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority will be impacted for a large part of Sunday when the Rock n' Roll Half Marathon winds through downtown San Jose and part of Santa Clara.

Between 4 a.m. and 2 p.m. bus lines 22, 23, 61, 62, 63, 64, 66, 68, 72, 73, 81, 82, and MST 55 will be impacted by major reroutes, according to VTA. Riders are encouraged to plan ahead and contact VTA for trip planning and assistance at (408) 321-2300 or by visiting the VTA Web site. Route and schedule information for Sunday is available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

More than 15,000 runners are expected to participate in the 13.1-mile run, according to race organizers, and music and local cheerleading squads will line the racecourse.
