About Sierra Zimei, Cocktailian, Seasons Bar and Lounge, Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco:
A Bay Area native, Sierra Zimei is the creative mind behind the specialty cocktail list at Seasons Bar and Lounge at Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco. With a straightforward approach to bartending, Zimei is constantly creating new and interesting cocktails to please even the most discerning palate. Prior to joining Seasons, Zimei held bartending posts in London, Washington D.C. and San Francisco. She also held numerous event planning and public relations positions in San Francisco at AT&T Park, Bill Graham Presents, KRON-4 and San Francisco City Hall.Zimei began her mixology career in London during a college study-abroad program. As a student trying to make ends meet, she took a position as a server in a banquet hall. Management soon realized that she could not hold a serving tray and she was gladly demoted to bartender. It was there that she became interested in the art of the classic cocktail. Following London, Zimei returned to the States to finish college. She moved to Washington, D.C. in 2003 for a Masters Program at American University in Washington D.C. and joined Ritz-Carlton Georgetown's opening team as the head bartender. It was then that she developed her passion for inventing cocktails. Missing her family and the West Coast, Zimei moved back to San Francisco in 2004. Sierra joined Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco in April 2006. At Seasons Bar, she is known for her creative approach to cocktails with a twist, using seasonal and organic ingredients, including interesting herbs, unusual fruits, and crazy combinations. Zimei is upping the game in San Francisco mixology by using her imaginative appeal to invent drinks that excite the masses while challenging their senses. Zimei was voted "Best Mixologist" in the 2008 Readers' Poll by San Francisco magazine. She has received numerous accolades at Mixologist Competitions throughout the country, including first place at the 2008 Hendricks Gin contest and third place at the 2007 Travel + Leisure Beverage Arts Challenge, among many others.
