With money getting tight, garage sales are going to start looking good to many families because they are fast cash and there's no paying eBay.

There is a downside though. What is supposed to be a temporary one-day thing, can turn into a full time businesses.

In the rust belt, cities are already dealing with this problem. Elkhart, Indiana, is limiting residents to one garage sale a month.

People have been complaining their neighborhoods are being turned into shopping districts. Those holding the garage sales say they lost their jobs and must support themselves somehow.
