All lanes have been reopened on southbound U.S. Highway 101 in San Rafael this morning after an apparent suicide caused an accident that blocked two lanes Thursday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Marin County coroner's office was called to the highway at Lucas Valley Road after the CHP received a call around 6:50 p.m. The caller's vehicle had reportedly just struck a person who jumped out in front of the vehicle, according to the CHP.

The Sig-alert was issued at about 7:05 p.m. Thursday for the No. 3 and 4 lanes of the highway. The lanes were reopened and the Sig-alert was canceled at about 12:15 a.m. this morning, according to the CHP.
