Hayward Police look for hit and run suspect

HAYWARD, CA

A resident heard the collision and called police around 2:40 a.m. to Pompano Street between Sumatra Street and Folsom Avenue, police said. Police found 32-year-old Rojelio Martinez from Union City, who might have been in the street looking for a dog that ran out of the house, was taken to Eden Trauma Center with major internal head injuries and later died.

The vehicle was described as a late 70s-model, Cadillac that might have front-end damage such as missing a grille, broken marker lights or a damaged windshield.
