Less than an hour after an injury accident between a train and a trespasser in San Mateo this afternoon, tracks in both directions were open for service, Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.

The victim was hit around 3:30 p.m. by the southbound No. 257 train at 25th Avenue just north of the Hillsdale station. The individual was transported to an area hospital but the condition of the victim was not available, Dunn said.

The northbound track was temporarily closed but reopened around 4:20 p.m. The involved train was canceled and passengers on that train were placed on the No. 159 train.
