SFO alerts travelers via text message

"FlightAssist," a real-time flight monitoring system, will allow updated flight information to be delivered via text message to passengers and anyone traveling to the airport to pick up passengers.

By registering and selecting a specific flight at www.flysfo.com, users will receive text messages on their cell phones with updated information on flight delays, cancellations and other events.

The system is meant to smooth the flow of passengers to and from the airport and reduce traffic congestion.

"FlightAssist provides a great option for passengers, those involved with a flight logistically, for the environment, and for the airport itself," CellTrust CEO Sean Moshir said.
