18-year old arrested for N. Richmond murder

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the Tuesday night fatal shooting of a 31-year-old Vallejo man in unincorporated North Richmond, the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office announced Friday.

The district attorney's office filed charges Friday of homicide, attempted homicide, carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon against Richmond resident Kenneth Wayne Thornton, according to the sheriff's office. Thornton was arrested Wednesday and is being held in county jail in Martinez without bail in connection with the killing of Hassan Allen, who was found fatally shot around 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Silver Avenue in North Richmond. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing and anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the sheriff's office at (925) 646-2441.
