A judge ordered a San Francisco city employee to stand trial on charges of tampering with the city's computer network.

Terry Childs faces four felony counts stemming from his arrest last July.

Prosecutors say the 43-year-old locked administrators out of a network containing data used to run the city and refused to hand over the password he created.

He eventually gave the access codes to Mayor Newsom.

Authorities say Childs caused more than $200,000 in damage to the computer system.
