The City of Richmond is now considering a bailout plan for the West Contra Costa School District to keep several Richmond schools open.

The district has previously talked about closing up to eight schools over the next two years to save almost $3.5 million.

City leaders are now looking for a way to raise part of that money -- $1.5 million for the next two years -- to keep the schools open.

The district is facing a $13 million deficit next year.
