Fatal crash closes Highway 238

The crash happened just after 8:30 a.m. just north of Interstate Highway 580 in unincorporated Alameda County, CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said. The motorcyclist was reported to be under the wheels of the big-rig and the Alameda County coroner's bureau was called to the scene at 8:45 a.m., according to Van Eckhardt. The highway is expected to remain closed for at least an hour while investigators collect evidence. A Sig-alert was issued at 9:02 a.m. Big-rigs are being allowed on I-580 during the closure, Van Eckhardt said.
