California Highway Patrol Officer Grace Castillo confirmed today that Vasquez was a passenger on a tour bus that had stopped near where the accident occurred. Castillo could not confirm the destination of the bus, but did say the trip began in San Francisco.

Vasquez was struck by a 2003 BMW traveling south on I-280 north of Bunker Hill Drive around 10:50 p.m. Witnesses reported that Vasquez walked into the car's path.

The BMW's driver pulled over immediately after striking the man, and reported then seeing additional vehicles hit the victim as he was lying in the roadway, according to the CHP. Those drivers didn't stop.

The CHP continues to seek the other motorists involved and anyone else who may have witnessed the accident.

Anyone with more information should contact Officer Mike Sarabia at (650) 369-6261, ext. 332.
