Shirley Tan made her life in Pacifica after leaving the Philippines some 20 years ago. She now has until May 10th, Mother's Day, to leave the U.S.

Although she was married in San Francisco and is raising two children, federal immigration law does not protect same-sex couples. So the only way tan can avoid deportation now, is by a vote of Congress.
