Napa college on lockdown Monday

Police have arrested one person in connection with a bank robbery in Napa this afternoon that prompted a lockdown at Napa Valley College, but as of 4:30 p.m. the campus remained closed, a college police official said.

The suspect is believed to have robbed a nearby bank shortly before 1 p.m., drove onto campus and then fled on foot into the inner campus, located at 2277 Napa Vallejo Highway, college police said.

Afternoon classes were canceled and students were put on lockdown while Napa police, the Napa County Sheriff's Department and the California Highway Patrol searched for the suspect.
