Research: new car sales down from 2008

New research shows sales of new vehicles in the first half of April are down 33 percent from a year ago, according to J.D. Power and Associates.

But the company also says its latest research shows some positive signs.

So far, sales for the month of April are on track to be about the same as in February and March. They say that could mean the car market is stabilizing.
