BART trains experienced systemwide delays of 30 minutes Friday evening following a train fire at the Bay Fair station in San Leandro, a BART spokeswoman said.

The fire was reported at 4:40 p.m. and was put out at 5:26 p.m., BART spokeswoman Luna Salaver said. The Bay Fair station was closed as fire crews responded, but reopened at about 5:30 p.m.

The Fremont-bound train was unoccupied when it caught fire. It had previously been evacuated at the Coliseum/Oakland Airport station due to braking issues, according to Salaver.

BART officials said there is no need to set up a bus bridge because trains are again running through the station.

There was no report of injuries due to the fire.
