The incident was reported at about 12:20 a.m. on Highway 101 near De Long Avenue in Novato, CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano said.

The driver of a three-axle Safeway truck was struck by a rock that came through the windshield, according to Caggiano, who said the driver was hospitalized, possibly with a broken jaw.

At about 2 a.m., Novato police spotted two suspects near Highway 101 and Rowland Boulevard and took them into custody in connection with the incident, Caggiano said.

He did not have any additional suspect information and did not know if additional vehicles were struck by rocks.
