The community is invited to bring pets, with or without costumes, and stuffed animals to the event. The best entry in the parade will receive a $100 grand prize, city officials said.
The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the parade begins at noon. A $5 entry fee is required for the contest but observing the parade is free.
Contest categories include best pet costume, best pet and owner look-alike, most unusual pet, and best pet trick.
