San Francisco commemorates Memorial Day

Several thousand people gathered for Memorial Day ceremonies at San Francisco's Presidio. It is the largest Memorial Day commemoration outside the nation's capital, and it dates back 140 years.

The crowd ranged from veterans, to members of the San Francisco School District's Jr. ROTC.

The ceremony included special tributes to African American units that were stationed at the Presidio and for the service men and women who died in Iraq and Afghanistan.

More than 35,000 veterans and their families are buried at the Presidio.
