One of the girls, ages 11 and 14, saw Armando Sanchez driving near Brownell Middle School today around 8:20 a.m. and identified him as a man who eerily drove by them several times Wednesday, according to the Police Department.

Police responding to the report pulled Sanchez over in the 8100 block of Forest Street because his white Toyota sport utility vehicle fit a prior description of the suspect's vehicle, according to the Police Department.

The girls told police the man harassed them around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday on Hanna Street between Third and Fourth streets, and at some point told one of the girls when she was walking alone, "Don't run, I'm not going to hurt you."

The man also smiled and made a peace sign, police said.

When the older sister arrived at Brownell Middle School that morning, the younger girl continued to El Roble Elementary School and was approached by the man at least two more times, police said.

Police notified schools and urged parents to speak with their children about safety.

Sanchez was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor counts of annoying or molesting a child under 18 and driving with a suspended license.
