Intuit plans to lay off 300 workers

Mountain View-based Intuit Corporation announced Thursday it's laying off 300 workers.

The company's CEO Brad Smith told employees in an email that Intuit is in the process of streamlining parts of its organization.

Intuit makes Quicken and Turbo Tax.

Just two days ago, the company announced it was buying Palo Alto's Paycycle Inc. for $170 million.
