Firefighters responded to a report of fire at 3354 Denton Way in the city's Evergreen neighborhood at around 1:40 a.m., San Jose fire Capt. Steve Alvarado said.

The fire was contained mostly to the garage area of the home, Alvarado said, and was controlled within 20 minutes of first responders arriving at the scene.

During the fire, a fight apparently broke out among bystanders, Alvarado said.

No one was injured in the fire or the fight, Alvarado said, and both were still under investigation this morning.

The fire caused between $50,000 and $100,000 in damages to the home.
