31 Calif. Senators take voluntary pay cuts

A vast majority of the state Senators in California are going along with a voluntarily cut in pay in light of California's unprecedented budget crisis.

Thirty-one of 40 state senators are taking at least a 5 percent reduction in pay, with three taking an 18 percent cut.

The voluntary cuts still leave most of the senators with six-figure salaries, along with their tax-free per diems, state paid cars, fuel, air travel and medical benefits.
