Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of McAllister and Laguna streets at around 11:20 p.m., police said.
Arriving officers and medical personnel found two men shot, police said. Both were taken to a hospital where one victim was reported to be in serious condition and was expected to survive.
The second victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Police did not release any suspect information at this time.
A homicide investigation was underway.
