Muni trains return to normal

A problem with the San Francisco Municipal Railway's train control system caused rolling delays in the Muni Metro light rail system for just under three hours this afternoon, according to a Muni spokesman.

The problem with the computer system started at 11:37 a.m. and caused delays on the J, K/T, L, M, and N lines, according to Muni spokesman Judson True.

The delays were "not significant," True said. All trains were running but were operating in manual mode.

As of 2:25 p.m., the problem was resolved and all Muni Metro lines returned to automatic operation.

He said there would be minor residual delays while the lines resume their normal schedules, but that the afternoon commute was not expected to be impacted.
