Smoke poured out of two manholes on Polk Street Monday afternoon. Witnesses reported smelling burning plastic.

PG&E crews are still looking for the source of the smoke.

The site is just a few blocks away from where a PG&E vault blew up on June 5. That vault was installed in the 1920s, and was simply worn out.
