The zoo's annual "march of the penguins" took place Wednesday morning. Four Magellanic penguin chicks born earlier this year joined the colony of 54 penguins that live on the man-made rock formation across from the lion house.

The young penguins, one male and three females, spent several months in the zoo's fish school, learning to swim and feed so they can assimilate successfully with the colony.

Daily talks and feedings at the penguin island are at 2:30 in the afternoon and are open to the public.
