In advanced copies of the book, Sully Sullenberger explains how he made it his life's mission to protect lives because he couldn't save his father from suicide.

Sullenberger saved 155 lives in that Hudson River landing, but in the book he portrays everyone else as more heroic than himself.

The book is set to be released in October.
