Some SF workers exempted from furloughs

They are union employees of the 'Compensation Insurance Fund.'

The decision is binding and effective immediately. The judge ruled that since the agency isn't state funded, employees are legally exempted from "any hiring freeze and staff cutbacks otherwise required by law,"

The union says it will also ask for retroactive back pay, with interest.
