Humana recently sent a mailer to Medicare recipients warning that "millions of seniors and disabled individuals" could lose many "important benefits and services." But, government experts claim that payments to private insurance plans are too high and cutting them will not affect benefits.
The Health and Human Services Department has ordered Humana to stop the mailings.
Humana has not commented.
