Overturned big rig blocks traffic on SB 880

A big-rig overturned on southbound Interstate Highway 880 in Oakland this afternoon, blocking lanes and snarling traffic for more than two hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at 11:48 a.m. just south of High Street.

CHP Officer John Short said the crash left the big-rig on its side but that the driver appeared to have "minimal" injuries.

"He got out of the truck and was walking around," Short said.

All lanes were reopened shortly before 2:40 p.m., according to the CHP.
