The crash was reported at 3:22 p.m. at the intersection of Paseo Padre Parkway and Walnut Avenue, Fremont police Lt. Mark Devine said.
The fire department vehicle had been traveling through the intersection with its lights and sirens on when the crash happened.
One person was injured in the crash but the extent of his injuries was not immediately known, officials said.
Martin said there was no fire at the courthouse.
