The victim was pronounced dead at Highland Hospital. Friends drove 23-year-old Darryl Oliver from the shooting scene inside a bullet-ridden car.
Police later determined the shooting and sideshow car rally happened about a mile away in the 2300 block of Foothill Boulevard.
No arrests have been made.
