2 teens arrested on suspicion of burglary

FAIRFIELD, CA

A neighbor called police around 2:30 p.m. to report the teens were standing in front of the house of a neighbor who was away at work, Detective Cleo Mayoral said.

One of the teens went into the backyard, entered the house and let the second teen in through the front door, Mayoral said.

Officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the house. As the officers prepared to enter through the front door, the teens fled out the back door, tried to hop a fence but were immediately arrested, Mayoral said.

The teens, ages 15 and 16, were booked into juvenile hall for burglary and probation violations.

Mayoral said the incident is a good example of neighbors looking out for each other and taking the time to get involved.
